You may have heard of the Boyfriend Dog Breed Challenge that’s going viral on TikTok. People compare their partners to classic dog breeds based on their personalities and hobbies. 

For example, Rottweiler boyfriends are introverts who are more interested in spending time with their partner than being in large groups. The opposite is the Golden Retriever boyfriend, who is usually a social butterfly even if their partner is not. 

This TikTok challenge is turning the tables to female partners in a relationship. We now ask ourselves “what type of dog girlfriend am I?”. The debate is really only between two options: Black Cat girlfriends and Golden retriever girlfriends. 

Black Cat Girlfriends

Characteristics: Quiet, intuitive, introverted

Interests: Reading, gardening, drawing

Dislikes: Social gatherings, talkative people 

On one side of the spectrum, we have the Black Cat girlfriend. These partners are just like their animal counterparts: dark, quiet, and mysterious.
